Made from Pinterest - Baileys Holiday Drink

This has been on my pinterest board for years. It's actually a stock photo of coffee jelly and milk. If you're wondering, coffee jelly is a popular gelatin dessert in Japan and it sounds awesome. I bet eating it with milk is amazing. Anyway, somehow this stock photo got the reputation on Pinterest as being of a "Baileys Holiday Drink."

I knew that's not what the picture was of, but it always seemed like an interesting idea, so when we decided to have Danielle's mom over for drinks last week and Danielle mentioned that her mom likes Baileys, I went for it. The premise is that you pour three parts Baileys and one part vanilla vodka over coffee ice cubes. You should already have coffee ice cubes ready to go to help you with your iced coffee in the morning. (We do!)

Except I totally forgot that "vanilla vodka" was part of the recipe, and then it turned out that Danielle's mom doesn't eat dairy anymore. So, this was not the most successful recipe of all time. But, while Danielle and her mother were enjoying their champagne, Roger and I sipped on the Baileys cordial, and it was fine, especially once the ice cubes started to melt.

Were I to do it again, I would make a nice hot cocoa, and do one part hot cocoa and one part Baileys served over the coffee ice cubes with whipped cream and a candy cane. More holiday-like that way, anyway!
